As the trade association for the surf industry, SIMA hosts annual events, seminars and programs for the industry.

Surf Summit is the industry’s main educational conference, held annually in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. A highlight of the weekend at Surf Summit is the sima image Awards, only awards program that gives surf industry manufacturers the opportunity to recognize fellow surf companies for their outstanding contributions to the surf industry.

Launching in 2008 is the SIMA Business Boot Camp ongoing seminar series. What Surf Summit is to Cabo, SIMA Business Boot Camp is to Orange County. SIMA members will benefit from intimate seminars aiming to provide valuable tips and tools to help your company improve a variety of daily business operations.

Waterman’s Weekend is marking its 19th anniversary in 2008.  Waterman’s Weekend is a two-day fundraising event that benefits the SIMA Environmental Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that awards grants to various environmental groups based on their dedication to preserving and protecting the world’s oceans, beaches and waves.

liquid Nation Ball is the official fundraiser for the SIMA Humanitarian Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Proceeds of the event are distributed in the form of grants to an expanded list of surf or boardsport related social and humanitarian non-profit organizations whose efforts are focused on improving the quality of life, health and/or welfare of people.  

SIMA is also the presenting sponsor of the Surfing America USA Championships, demonstrating the industry’s commitment to amateur surfing development in America.
